Scotland 7s international Pete Horne was at Scotstoun Stadium, the venue for Scotland's leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series, as 160 youngsters from schools across Glasgow took part in their very own Glasgow 7s festival.  The event will host 16 nations in May and 16 nations were represented by 16 schools from across the city.

Around 160 primary school children from across Glasgow joined Scotland 7s star Pete Horne at Scotstoun Stadium today (Friday) for a rugby festival ahead of the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s – the Scottish leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

In an exclusive interview former Scotland international, Thom Evans, talks about the HSBC Sevens World Series coming to Glasgow for the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s. Thom, who will compete in an athletics event on Sunday 19 February at Kelvinhall in Glasgow, discusses his chances of competing in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 and how the IRB Sevens will lay the groundwork for the games.

The Las Vegas Sevens tournament marks the mid-point in the HSBC Sevens World Series and for Scotland 7s head coach Graham Shiel it’s another opportunity to reach the team’s goal of a first Cup quarter-final. Preparations are going well in the Nevada desert and Shiel reports an air of optimism ahead of the weekend’s competition, when the Scots will take on Kenya, England and Brazil in Pool D.

Scotland Sevens ended day two of the Wellington Sevens with a win over the Cook Islands, 19-17, which saw them scoop up the Shield silverware. Unfortunately, the side were unable to keep up the momentum from their previous two tournaments, whereby winning all three matches on day two to win the bowl, after losing their opening game, and the first match of the day, to a speedy Kenya, 14-5.

They will now travel to Las Vegas to compete in the fifth leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series next weekend (10-12 February), taking on England, Kenya and Brazil.
