IRB vice-president, Bill Beaumont, and sportscotland chair, Louise Martin welcomed the announced of the penultimate leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series coming to Glasgow on 5-6 May 2012.

Beaumont said: “Scotstoun will provide a fantastic atmosphere for the 7s, it will be packed and there will a huge demand for tickets. Glasgow is one of the great sporting cities.”

Martin added:  “This is a fantastic announcement for 7s, spectators who will come here will great a tremendous ambience that will encourage the tournament to build and keep growing.”

Tickets for the event are on sale now at the price of just £10 for those who buy before the end of the RBS 6 Nations (17 March). All concessions are at half the equivalent adult price.  Tickets will be sold for particular stands and designated days, with two-day ‘weekend’ tickets also available.

Scottish Rugby and it's partners for the Glasgow 7s are committed to ensuring there is a sustainable travel plan in place and are exploring innovate and ambitious plans for transport around the event which will minimise disruption for local residents and get supporters to and from Scotstoun with ease.
