Matches last seven minutes each way with a one-minute break for half time. (In the final, this is extended to ten minutes each way with a two-minute break at half time.

16 countries will be taking part, including rugby-playing giants New Zealand (the current World Series Champions), Australia, South Africa and England as well as great sevens specialists such a Fiji and Samoa.
Scotland have been playing in the World Series since it began and now have a full-time squad of sevens specialists playing in the tournaments across the world. They have already won the Bowl competition in Dubai and will be aiming to arrive in Glasgow with a few more wins under their belt.

Day One (Pools) Play on the first day of the tournament is in pools, on a round-robin basis. Three points are awarded for a win, two for a draw and one for a loss. The group winners and the second-placed teams progress to the Cup and Plate competitions. The third and fourth-placed teams progress to the Bowl and Shield competitions.

Day Two (Knockout competition) The Cup, Plate, Shield and Bowl competitions are all concluded on Day 2, with the Cup Final the last game of the day.
World Series Points
The Series championship is decided on the points earned in each tournament. For sixteen-team tournament points are awarded as follows:
- Cup winner: 24 points
- Cup runner-up: 20 points
- Losing Cup semi finalists: 16 points
- Plate winner (5th place): 12 points
- Plate runner-up: 8 points
- Losing Plate semi finalists: 6 points
- Bowl winner (9th place): 4 points

FAQs
Can I park at the stadium? No, there will be no specific event public parking and supporters are encouraged to use the various public transport options on offer (see Getting there)
I am disabled – can I park at the stadium? Disabled parking is allocated to Scottish Rugby disabled pass holders on advance application only to the Ticket Centre. There will be no access to the disabled parking area to supporters without the required Scottish Rugby pass. Those with Scottish Rugby Disabled Car park passes must also display their blue badge.
I’m not in a position to purchase tickets in advance – can I buy them on the day? Yes you will be able to purchase tickets at the Stadium on both days – please see ticket information above.
Do we get an allocated seat and can I sit with friends? Seats will be reserved in the main and north stands but unreserved in the festival and party stands.
Can I bring along my one-year-old child? Yes you can, however we would remind you that this is a large event with loud music and pyrotechnic effects which could unsettle a young child.
Does my one-year-old child need a match ticket? Children under two are admitted free of charge provided they sit on the parent’s knee.
Is there a crèche? No.
Will I be able to smoke in the stadium? No, smoking is not permitted anywhere within the stadium.
Can I bring an air horn? Yes, however pressurised containers are not permitted; mechanised airhorns (blow through / wind up) are allowed.
Can I bring a camera? Yes, pocket-sized cameras are permitted however large professional cameras are not. By small, we mean pocket size digital cameras or SLR cameras with zoom lenses no more powerful than 300mm. Tripods are not permitted.
Can I bring in a backpack or small rucksack? Small backpacks are permitted however suitcases or larger items will be denied access. A guide of size is something that will comfortably fit beneath your seat. We assume no responsibility for baggage within the stadium. Rucksacks or similar will be subject to a search before entry.
If I feel unwell during the match can I get help? Yes, we have a full medical team on duty for your safety and well-being, including first aid, paramedics and doctors. Please contact your nearest steward, in the first instance.
Can I bring juice into the stadium? Cans cannot be brought into the stadium as part of the stadium ground rules. However a relaxation has been given to plastic bottles of soft drinks and water up to 500ml. Please note: the lid must be sealed and intact. No alcohol will be permitted to be brought into the stadium.
Can I bring food into the stadium? There are catering outlets throughout the stadium and therefore there should be no requirement.
What happens if I have special dietary requirements? We will not stop anyone bringing food or drink into the stadium under these circumstances, providing that any soft drinks / water are in SEALED plastic bottles no larger than 500ml.
Can you purchase alcohol in the stadium? Yes. The stadium will be licensed with bars and food outlets open throughout both days.
Can I take my drink to my seat? Yes, but we would ask you to be mindful of those en route and sitting around you when transporting the drink.
